Images For Remington Model 1917 Rifle Serial Numbers
I looked at 2 model 1917 rifles today. One a remington and the other a eddystone. Both rifles look totally original with the correct marked parts as best as i can tell.No rebuild stamps on either stock. The only numbers and letters that i could find on the stocks were A9 behind the second sling swivel on the remington and 1R behind the trigger guard on the eddystone. The remington does however have a eddystone bolt assembly.Only issue i see are the bores on both. They are as dark and pitted as can be with muzzle wear just over 3 on the remington and just over 2 on the eddystone. They both look good on the outside for there age,it is just the bores on both are so bad.The blueing on both rifles is dull.Nothing has been parked and i do not see any repairs to the stocks. They appear to be original finish.I could not get any pics, but would like to know what these rifles are worth in this condition with such bad bores. The remington barrel is dated 8-18 with serial number 475XXX and the eddystone barrel date 10-18 with serial number 1242XXX.Any help on values would be great.
